Homemade Hummingbird Nectar

Make hummingbird nectar at home - (with ingredients you probably already have!)

Ingredients
  

  • ΒΌ cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Heat water on stove until boiling.
  • Remove from heat and stir in white sugar until completely dissolved.
  • Set aside and let cool before adding to a clean feeder.
  • Store any extra nectar in the fridge for up to two weeks.

Notes

IMPORTANT:
  • DO NOT ADD ANY RED DYE TO THE NECTAR. RED DYE IS UNNECESSARY AND CAN BE HARMFUL TO THE BIRDS.
  • DO NOT SUBSTITUTE THE WHITE SUGAR FOR WITH ANY OTHER SWEETNER.
  • REPLACE WATER AND CLEAN FEEDER THOROUGHLY EVERY OTHER DAY TO INHIBIT DEADLY MOLD GROWTH.
