The scouring powder we kept in the house is the same kind that I remember having under the sink when I was a kid.

You know the one I’m talking about. (That one in the green container that was far from being green.)

But like most things in life, we go with what we are used to. That is – until we learn a better way.

This scouring powder is so easy to make at home, and if you’ve been dabbing in making homemade cleaning products, you probably already have the ingredients you need.

Where to use scouring powder

  • Bathtub
  • Sinks
  • Tile floors
  • Counters
  • Stove tops
  • Pots & Pans

You can use the scouring powder to clean just about any surface in your home!

(The scouring powder is abrasive. Don’t use it on delicate surfaces such as mirrors and glass.)

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup Washing Soda
  • 1/2 cup Salt
  • 10-20 drops orange essential oil (or another scent you like)
  • Container (I saved one of my kombucha bottles)

Here’s what you do:

  1. Pour the dry ingredients into medium bowl and mix thoroughly.
  2. Add 10-20 drops of essential oils and mix thoroughly once again.
  3. Pour the mixture into a container. Using a funnel will make this part a lot easier.
  4. (Consider using a mason jar and poke holes in the lid to make an easy pour container.)
  5. Cover the mixture and use as needed.
